Inner Mongolia Today
Shudian, Guozi
Peking; Nationalities Publishing House; 1957

Book Condition: Very Good. Hard Cover. Jacket Condition: Very Good. Size G: 10"-11" Tall (254-279mm). From the Foreword: A decade ago Inner Mongolia was rather barren and the people led a hard life. During the ten years since the establishment of the autonomous region on May 1, 1947, great changes have taken place. Many photos, mainly B&W. 174 pages. Text in Chinese and English. Captions in Chinese and English. The book comes in a slip case, brown light weight cardboard. The slip case is stapled along the top and bottom sides. There is a paper label glued on the front, with the title of the book. The slip case is very basic and utilitarian compared with the rather grand binding. The cloth binding is a very dark red, on very thick boards. The title is gold embossed on the front. A border of white paper with a gold embossed geometric design is pasted on the front cover, with another decorative white panel within, above the title. On second thoughts, the white may be paint, rather than paper. It is hard to tell. The spine does not show the title. It is covered with a white and gold design. These books were purchased new and have been in storage for decades. However the edges of the book have a minor tan and the pages are very slightly stuck together. Several copies are available. 175 pages. Inventory #76753
